Italian cycling legend Vincenzo Nibali was invited onto the stage to help present the route of next year’s race.
The event started with a best-of summary of this year’s Giro d’Italia, which featured exciting battles between the cyclists in the peloton and was led by Geraint Thomas until the penultimate stage – an individual time trial that was won by Primoz Roglic, who thereby also secured a spot on the top step of the GC podium in Rome.
